About us
Rebecca Bresnick Holmes
I discovered my passion for clay
in 1995 and have enjoyed helping
other people experience the joy of
clay by teaching wheel-throwing
and hand-building at the UC Davis
Craft Center, Davis Art Center,
and privately at The Clayground.
I create pottery and other
ceramic art because I love the feel
of clay in my hands and the
process of creating those objects.
Often, the creation process turns
out to be more valuable than the
finished piece.
In addition to the process of
creating the work, I love that the
finished piece is something
touchable and durable; something
made by one person’s hands, to be
touched and used by others.
My pottery is hand-thrown on a
pottery wheel and is food safe. It
is also safe for microwave and
dishwasher use.

Shannon Moore
I discovered clay after moving
from Nashville, where I had
studied painting and art history,
to Northern California in 1990. I
worked for six years as studio
manager at Billick Rock Art in
Davis. I then formed Claymoon
Studio, where I was involved in
every aspect of large-scale
public art projects, taught
workshops and participated in
many projects working
exclusively with children.
I am a member of The Artery in
Davis and have shown my
sculpture in numerous galleries.
I am also a former preschool
teacher.
I am excited to have an
opportunity to teach both
children and adults and hope to
inspire them to love working
with clay as much as I do.
