What is the Winters Education Foundation (WEF)?
A new organization in Winters whose mission is to support excellence in
Winters public schools by raising funds for district-wide programs and
promoting equitable opportunities among our schools. WEF raises money
within our community to subsidize our schools in response to the needs of all
our children.
Who is involved in the WEF?
A volunteer group of parents, grandparents, community members, and
educators.
Why do we need an education foundation in Winters?
State support for public school students in California is among the lowest in the
nation. With declining numbers of children enrolled in our schools for the past
several years, the district has faced a continuing need to cut back the budget at
our schools. The recent economic downturn and cuts to state funding for
education will make this problem worse next year.
How can I help?
□ Pledge now or make a simple donation.
□ Get involved, come to our meetings (call, email, or visit web for dates).
□ Volunteer your time and/or skills - we need YOUR help!
□ Spread the word – talk to friends about WEF.
